Through long-term efforts, the School of Humanities has formed its research feature and got academic impact in some fields. It possesses four provincial research bases, such as Chinese Classical Tradition Popularization Base, Southwest Humanities Records and Images Center, New Media and Cultural Studies Center, and Vietnam Research Center, as well as many other research centers like Comparative Literature and Contemporary Culture Research Center, Chinese Region Research Center, Film and TV Culture Research Center, Bashu Dialect and Literature Research Center, Chinese Poetry and Literature Research Center, and Applied Ethics Research Center.
In recent four years, faculty members of the school have obtained nearly 120 national and provincial projects. Among them, “Fang Zhizhong dialect materials’ organizing, editing, recording and digitizing”, hosted by Professor Wang Qiming, was approved as a major project of National Social Science Fund in 2015. It is the first approved major National Social Science Fund project that SWJTU was taken as the responsible organization and professor from the university as chief expert.
Teachers from the School of Humanities have published a total of nearly 150 CSSCI retrieval papers in recent years. Many of them have been full copied by Xinhua Digest, China Social Sciences Digest, HBDXTSG, andCUAA. More than 50 works and textbooks have been published.
The School of Humanities actively carries out cooperation and exchange with colleges and universities at home and abroad. Teachers are encouraged to visit famous international colleges and attend academic conferences. Also, the school is rich in academic exchange activities. We invited well-known domestic and overseas academic scholars to give more than 40 lessons. By hosting and undertaking 1-2 academic conferences with academic influence or high-quality forums every year, the School of Humanities has won a certain academic reputation.
Major Projects of the National Social Science Fund
